Enhancements to Distributed Manufacturing
Explore how new enhancements to Distributed Manufacturing help you save time, reduce manual effort, and deliver a smoother ordering experience.
✔ Faster, more transparent 3D file upload experience – We're making the basket experience more intuitive and responsive. In this release, users can now see a progress bar that tracks the number of files being uploaded and analyzed. If an upload fails, clear and actionable error messages are shown, and uploads can be retried immediately.

✔ Manage large production orders more easily – Now you can define target dates and see the system-calculated estimated finish date for each batch of parts. Use this information to plan partial deliveries, phase invoicing, and streamline production scheduling.

✔ Order multiple parts in the Catalog at once – There's no longer any need to place separate orders for each part; users can now select and order multiple Catalog parts at once. This functionality is available whether users place an order or create a quote.

✔ Customize how material and post processing services are displayed – Previously dictated by alphabetical order, the display can now be customized to prioritize offerings, such as placing best-selling materials at the top of the list.
✔ Search by 3D file names – Quickly locate projects, sales transactions, parts, and jobs by searching the names of uploaded 3D files.
User-Friendly Updates to Part Identification
Our latest updates to Part Identification focus on simplifying the user experience so you can achieve more in fewer steps.
✔ Inline editing directly in the part list – This new feature transforms how users manage part data. Users can now edit fields without needing to navigate the part detail page. Click and update information in a seamless, intuitive workflow.

✔ Improved material handling with reference material field – We've renamed the 'Other Material' field to 'Reference Material', which allows users to store original materials sourced from 3D metadata, 2D drawings, or CSV imports.

✔ Automatic assembly detection for 2D and 3D uploads – Now users can easily identify whether uploaded files are assemblies, which helps to reduce confusion during manufacturing assessment and part filtering.
Other Improvements
✔ Catalog descriptions now offer rich text formatting – We've upgraded the Catalog Description field to support richer text formatting, allowing for more detailed and visually appealing descriptions.
✔ Sunsetting product options feature – This change will primarily involve backend updates without affecting existing customers. For those who have utilize this functionality, we will ensure that all customer material names are seamlessly integrated into the standard material database, maintaining continuity in the user interface.
