Categorize Parts in Digital Inventory by Equipment Used On

Product Stephan Galozy | October 9, 2025 | 4 min read

In our 25.10 release, we're introducing new functionality that enables users to categorize parts in their digital inventory by the system or equipment on which they're used.

Learn how this makes it easier to see what parts are being used (and where) and discover what other enhancements you can expect to see in 25.10.

Improvements to Part Identification

Track Where Parts are Used With "System" Field

We're introducing a new, standardized "System" property to streamline how you track where parts are used. This update merges the functionality of the old "Used On" and "Platform" properties to improve data quality and support our upcoming 2D drawing extraction features.

Benefits:

  • Multi-Select: Pre-configured search function, allowing you to select multiple systems for a single part.
  • Easy Sorting: The "System" field is filterable and live-editable directly in the Part List.
  • Admin Panel Control: Values are now definable and manageable within the Admin Panel.
  • Enhanced User Experience: Users can now easily add new System values directly from the part editing interface.

A one-time data migration will be performed to ensure continuity for existing data.

Part List and Detail Pages – Now 50% Faster

3YOURMIND handles large volumes of data, and sometimes waiting for all those numbers to be crunched can make us a little impatient. That's why we've made it a point to improve loading times on Part List and Part Detail pages.

We're happy to share that we've recently cut page load time in half. See the difference for yourself:

But the work's not done. This improvement is part of our ongoing effort to enhance the performance of 3YOURMIND software for our users.

More Part Identification Improvements:

  • New "Due Date" field – Assign due dates for parts and projects to enhance efficiency and improve transparency.
  • Extract part number from file name – Automatically extract serial numbers from uploaded file names to reduce manual inputs, ensure data continuity, and reduce failures.

Updates to Distributed Manufacturing

Catalog Part Creation Now Supports Color and Insert Selection

We've enhanced the Create Catalog Part workflow to allow for direct selection of post-processing colors and inserts. This update streamlines part creation by exposing these options directly in the user interface, ensuring accurate part specifications from the start.

image-20250915-142921You can now select available post-processing colors and inserts directly from the drop-down menu.

Benefits

  • Improved Workflow Efficiency: Eliminates the need for a workaround to assign colors or inserts, saving time and reducing manual effort.
  • Enhanced Transparency: Users now have full visibility into the selected color or insert options when viewing a Catalog part.

Other Enhancements:

  • Faster Project Lists – We’ve optimized the pagination system for project lists in the Service Workspace to load significantly faster.
  • Configurable Overproduction Setting – Overproduction can now be enabled or disabled per fulfillment partner in the admin panel.
  • Admin Panel: Clone Material – Create a custom material in the Admin Panel by copying the properties of any existing standard or custom material.
