Strong Industry Partners
To standardize and optimize additive manufacturing
Advancing additive manufacturing through standardization
A successful partnership demands much more than “just” a strong product. 3YOURMIND has positioned themselves in long-lasting and strong partnerships to digitize AM workflows in a way that is ready to scale alongside production needs.
3YOURMIND believes that the only correct way to push “additive” into manufacturing is by creating industry-wide standards so they dedicate resources to help develop those standards in leading organizations.
Machine Connectivity Partners
We unlock the full potential of the production floor with key partners.
Umati (Universal Machine Tool Interface)
3YOURMIND is a proud member of the UNIVERSAL MACHINE TOOL INTERFACE working group. The goal of this group is to provide a universal connection between machine tools and peripherals to customer-specific IT ecosystems. Exactly this aspect is missing in the AM world today. Machine connectivity are provided as one-off solutions which demand high maintenance and provide low stability. 3YOURMIND has set out to change this by spearheading the development of this standard and applying it to additive manufacturing.
The umati program is a strong partnership between Chiron, DMG Mori, Emag, Grob Werke, Heller, Liebherr Verzahntechnik, Trumpf, Beckhoff, Bosch Rexroth, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, and other key representatives from the manufacturing industry. The most important aspect is that all machine data is funneled into a standard format to simplify scheduling, track analytics, and process data. Unlike MTConnect, umati also supports standards for sending data to the machine which will pave the way for automated, agile manufacturing.
SLM Solutions is the first OEM to have built an umati-connection together with 3YOURMIND. 3YOURMIND has built drivers to translate production data from EOS and Ultimaker machines into the umati standard, hence establishing standard machine connectivity. Other OEMs including Trumpf, Prodways, and Renishaw are already part of the umati working group and will be connected in the first wave. 3YOURMIND is in contact with every major OEM (including HP), and post-processing providers, to push the standard forward and secure additional integrations.

America Makes
America Makes is the leading and collaborative partner in additive manufacturing technology research, discovery, creation, and innovation in the US. Structured as a public-private partnership, America Makes innovates and accelerates additive manufacturing to increase the global manufacturing competitiveness of the US. 3YOURMIND works with America Makes to provide training to help educate the next generation of AM production engineers.
DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung)
The Deutsche Institut für Normung (DIN) is responsible for setting the standards within Germany. But the DIN standards are also recognized and used around the world. 3YOURMIND is leading the working group “Software in Additive Manufacturing (NA 145-04-04)”. The resulting standardization will become the benchmark for AM in the coming decades and help pave the way for optimization and automation.
Mobility goes Additive
Mobility goes Additive is the leading international network of companies, institutions, and research institutes working on industrial additive solutions. Around 100 organizations have already joined the network and are pushing the boundaries of AM. They are organized in 8 topics, reaching from materials, through issues topics to the digital supply chain. 3YOURMIND is leading the working group “Software for
VDMA (Mechanical Engineering Industry Association)
The industrial implementation of additive manufacturing is a major goal of the Additive Manufacturing Association within the VDMA (German Mechanical Engineering Association). 3YOURMIND has been an active member for many years and represents the software- and digitalization-aspects in this cross-functional workgroup.
The Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association (AMGTA)
The AMGTA, a global nonprofit organization founded in November 2019, seeks to educate the public and industry about these positive environmental benefits, promote the adoption of AM as an alternative to traditional manufacturing, develop best practices for additive manufacturing, and help the organization’s members grow their businesses and acquire new customers. In order to accomplish these goals, the AMGTA will engage in marketing and advertising campaigns, sponsor and conduct research and publish the results, and grow the organization’s membership. www.amgta.org/
Incubators and Accelerators
