Part Identification: Easy to Read Manufacturing Insights
We’ve added new illustrations and detailed descriptions to design checks, along with tooltips that provide visual context and actionable guidance. These updates help CAD designers spot manufacturability issues faster and reduce the number of design iterations needed.
Pictured: Design illustrations provide visual checks that support DfAM guidelines.
We see these design illustrations as an opportunity to give design engineers another tool in their toolbox. In addition to 3YOURMIND's integration with PTC Creo, they can use this capability to streamline the development of new parts and products.
More Part Identification Improvements:
- Technology-specific helper text: No more guesswork—each technology now comes with a short description, including suitable materials and machines, that can be customized to your internally available equipment.
- Flexible cost breakdown: With detailed, customizable rows (e.g., labor, consumables, and overhead), you can get a clearer picture of production costs.
- Enhanced Part List filtering: Find exactly what you need with enhanced filtering, including filters for analysis confidence, X/Y/Z dimensions, and manufacturability rating.
Workflow Enhancements to Distributed Manufacturing
We've enhanced the Clone Configuration functionality across the User Workspace and Service Workspace to provide precise control when replicating part settings. This eliminates unintended overwrites and simplifies the setup of multi-line quotes and orders.
Pictured: Select configurations to clone and apply them to specific parts.
This improved functionality gives fine-grained control to apply desired settings only to selected parts, avoiding blanket changes across all lines. In addition, you can quickly configure large quotes or orders without repetitive manual entry.
More Distributed Manufacturing Improvements:
- Copy workflows: Quickly duplicate existing workflow templates in Production Management, making it easier to reuse and adapt complex workflows without recreating each step from scratch
- Images on production sheets: Create visually detailed QA reports that meet the documentation standards of large customers and regulatory bodies.
Other Improvements & Bug Fixes
- Automated part re-analyses and re-calculations during new release and feature deployment, eliminating the need for manual intervention and ensuring up-to-date part reports.
- Resolved the Magics CSV import from the Change Sequences drawer.
- Scrapped Batches (previously known as Sequences) are no longer auto-selected on the part detail page.
This release is currently being rolled out to our SaaS customers. If you don't see updates immediately, they should be available within the next few days.
